DISOBEYING ORDERS

SHIPS FIREMAN FINED. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, June 5. Patrick Redmond, a fireman on the Mapourika, was convicted and fined £5 or one month’s imprisonment at the Magistrate’s Court for disobeying the orders of the second engineer while the vessel was on the high seas on the voyage from Napier to Wellington. The engineer ordered.the man to work up the steam pressure to the normal 1601b. Redmond refused and the officer and another turned to and brought up the required pressure.
