LAND BOARD ELECTION.
To the Editor. Sir, —Reference has been made in rc.flr columns re the pending Land Board election. No one will admit that the returned men should not be represented on the Board. At the same time, it would be a direct loss to Southland were the Crown tenants thereof to lose a man of Mr James King’s experience and practical ability and energy. He has shown himself a worthy example for Crown tenants to follow and is truly a man of the land. With all respect to the gallant colonel, and what he and those worth}’ boys who stood by him have done in upholding the Empire's supremacy, I think it is up to one of the older politically appointed members of the Land Board to stand down and give place to the soldiers’ worthy representative.—l am, etc., IMPSHI.
