A DISPUTED ELECTION

LYTTELTON HARBOUR BOARD. PETITION DISMISSED. (Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, June 2. Reserved judgment was delivered by Mr S. E. McCarthy, S.M., in a petition against the return of Messrs Boag and Storry as members of the Lyttelton Harbour Board. The petition alleged certain irregularities in regard to nomination and deposit. The Magistrate overruled the petition and declared the two candidates duly elected. He made no order for costs, remarking that the attitude of the returning officer and his assistants before the closing of nominations was calculated to create the impression that neither of the candidates named had lodged a deposit.
