NOTED AIRMAN’S DEATH. diy Telegraph.— Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Reuter’s Telegrams.) CAIRO, May 29. Air Commodore Groves died from injuries received in an aeroplane crash at Almaza. Commodore Groves became deputy Chief ,f the Air Staff in April. 1918. and was the right hand man of Colonel Trent-hard. He did immense work in the development of aviation.
Brigadier-General Robert Marsland Groves, G. 8., D.5.0.. was horn in 1880 and was educated at Rossall anrl the Royal Naval School. Elt-ham. He joined thcNavy in IS,i-l and ro-e to the rank of captain in 1917. lie entered the Royal Naval Air Aert ice in 1914 as wing commander, rising to the oust of dcputy-Chiof of the An Staff.
