JUSTIFICATION OF GENERAL DYER. LONDON, May 30. There is widespread discussion for and against the Amritsar report. Leading Anglo-Indians generally support General Dyer. Lord Sydenham, in an article, declares that if the rebellion in the Punjab had succeeded it would have been a disaster of the first magnitude. General Dyer’s action cannot be justly condemned by anyone, who has followed closely recent events in India.
