(Received May 27, 11,30 p.m.l The Secretary of State for India, in a despatch to the Viceroy, Lord Chelmsford, traversing General Sir Archibald Hunter’s icport on the Amritsar case, says that while admitting General Dyer's honesty of purpose, he finds that his conception of his duty is ,-o fundamentally at. variance with what tin' Government has a right to expect from its oliicrrs that the Government has approved of General Dyer’s resignation.
