MELBOURNE, May 26

The Premiers' Conference concluded yesterday. It declined to grant power to Mr Hughes to arbitrate on industrial unrest within one State. Mr Hughes suggested a new Commonwealth Court, industrial ooania. am! councils comprising employers

and employees. Mr Hughes announced that there would be much borrowing in the future and intimated that there would be a reduction of the capital payment to the States.

THE SUTHERLAND TRAGEDY

WORRELL SENTENCED TO DEATH

SYDNEY, May 25

Ex-Constable Worrell was found guilty uid sentenced to death on the charge of murdering his wife. He made a statement that deceased during a fit of mad jealousy, because he married his first wife while on service in England, snatched a revolver and shot herself dead. Fear prevented his reporting the circumstances. Worrell's first wife died shortly after reaching Australia.
