CARRANZA’S LAST STAND. A HEROIC SPECTACLE. (By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) MEXICO CITY, May 17. Carranza's last stand was a heroic spectacle. Without water or food, outnumbered ami surrounded, the Carranzists fought desperately against overwhelming odds, General Murgua and Carranza personally leading charge- hy which finally a way wa> cut for escape to the mountains. The rebels pay a generous tribute to Carranza's heroism. His horse was shot under him, but he remounted and continued the battle.
