WIRELESS AND THE PRESS
SCHEME FOR LINKING DOMINIONS. COMPANY TO BE FORMED. (By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON, May 8. The Empire Press Union discussed the possibilities of extending the use of the wireless for newspaper purposes. Signor Marconi’s representatives detailed a scheme for linking un the Dominions with Britain by wireless and telephone, subject to some Government control. It is intended to form a company, entirely Imperial in constitution, and invite the Government to take shares and join the directorate. The Australasian Wireless Company will join as partners. Signor Marconi proposes to specialise in press matter with tariff onethird below ordinary rates. The union asked the company to submit details for the forthcoming Press Conference in Canada.
