BRITAIN AND JAPAN
RENEWAL OF THE ALLIANCE.
CONSIDERABLE MODIFICATIONS PROBABLE. (By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON, May 5. (Received May 8, 12.5 a.m.) The Daily Express understands that there will be considerable modifications in the renewed Anglo-Japanese Treaty, both countries considering these necessary. There is no anxiety in this connection, although the situation is a trifle delicate in view of the distrust on the part of America, Canada and Australia regarding our treaty obligations with Japan.
