Advices from El Paso State that negotiations are proceeding for the peaceful surrender of the city to-morrow to the rebels, who are massing in the vicinity ready to attack. - CARRANZA’S COURSE OF ACTION. REBELS TO BE CRUSHED. MEXICO CITY, May 6. . Carranza declares that his duty is to crush. the. rebels. He will not cease bis efforts till his purpose is achieved. The Government has enough troops to dominate the insurrection. It is impossible to hold the elections during the rebellion. MANIFESTO BY CARRANZA. APPEAL FOR POPULAR SUPPORT. MEXICO CITY, May 6. Carranza has issued & manifesto -.declaring that he will not give up power until the revolutionists have been defeated, and then only to a constitutionally elected successor. The manifesto asks for popular support, sad for an increased army.
