Hector Beaton, for being druuk and disorderly in Dee street, was fined ss, or in do fault, 24- honi'8 1 j imprisonment, His Worship observing that I lie penalty, though tlio usual one inflicted iti first cases of that kind, was far too slight for sucli an odioua offence against right living and public morality. JPhail v. Stock. — This case was adjourned for a week, His Worship, in granting the adjournment, recommending the pirties to settle it between themselves before the time appointed for its rehearing. Satubday, November 15. Robert M'Alister, who had been brought in from the Mataura on the Bth inst, charged with being of unsound mind. was brought up on remand i and received his discharge, being perfectly sane.
