F. Martin and Co. report : — The sale of Mr F. Polling's property, held on the 23rd inst., attracted a very large attendance of buyers, and parties desirious of ascertaining the market value of country property. The first lot, comprising sections 14 and 15, block IV., and 10 and 11, block 11., Wallacetown, together with the building* thereon, consisting of the Wallacetown . Hotel, stables, saleyards, garden, &c. &c, was very keenly competed for, and fell to the bid of Mr Robt. Campbell, of Arrowtown, Lake Wakatipu, for £800. Lot 2, comprising sections 32. 34, 36, and 38, block XVI., New Hirer Hundred, containing 180 a. lr. 28p. of first* claps river flat land, was sold a bargain to Mr William Lawson at £4 per acre. Lot 3 , sections - 48 and 49, block XVI., containing 120 a. Or. 12p. of the richest land on the New Biver, was withdrawn at a bid of £6 17s 6d per acre, the reserve being £7, at which figure we have almoßt completed the sale privately. Sections 19 and 20, block 51, town of Invercargill, were sold privately . at £20 each. Invercargill, August 25th, 1873.
