Wellington, July 25. The William Tapscott, an American ship of 1600 tons, has arrived here. She is bound from Enderby Island to Queenstown, Ireland, with 2000 tons of guano. The chief officer, Bernard King, is in charge, the captain being in irons. The captain was shot thrice by the mate. On the voyage the captain had cufc down one sailor with an axe, another with a cutlass, and committed further brutalities. The crew then mutinied, and demanded that the chief officer should take charge of the vessel. She has twelve feet of water in her hold, and is believed to be unseaworthy. The mate has given himself up. Commercial. — Dunedin flour, £14 to £11 10s ; Oainaru ditto, £15 ; Canterbury ditto, £12 10a to £13 ; wheat, 6s 3d to 6s 6d ; oats, 5s 6d to 6s. Cheistchubch, July 25. The steamer Titan has gone ashore on the bar. It is expected she will be got off next tide. A woman named Morgan, the wife of a butcher, haa been burnt to death by falling into the fire. Auckland, July 28. Fiji advices state that the chiefs Maafu and Tuicakau have seceded from the Government. The Fiji Bank is believed to be successful. Capt.
