THE OVERLAND ROUTE TO DUNEDIN.

♦ (to the editor op the times.) Sib, — I have no doubt many traveller- 1 between Invercirjiill and DUnedin go by steamboats nowa days, as it is well known by them that the Invercargill end of the jouraoy is a very disagreeable undertaking, to say nothing of the risk one runs of getting maimed for life. Everyone in Invercargill knows only too well the fearful state the road is in out as far as "Woodlands, and the number of accidents that have occurred. But I am glad that since the coach has changed hands, people need not be afraid to travel by if, as the driver, Mr Knox, is csreful to a degree seldom practised by coach drivers. He lias been enterprising enough to flnd v new and beautiful road from town to the Halfway Bubli, by going out the North Road as far as the Junction Hotel, then turning off to the east, following a leading ridge the whole way, Notwithstanding this road being two miles longer than the old one, the coach arrives at the Halfway Bush half an hour sooner. 1 wou'd therefore draw the attention of travellers who gi-t sick on shipboard to try the new line of coacheß to Dunedin. 1 can also recommend the coach as being an exceptionally comfortable and easy one. — I am, &c, D. W. M'Abthttb.
