DUNEDIN.

Messrs Driver, Stewart, and Co. report for week ending 4th June .*— Fat Cattle. — 60 head were yarded at the Kaikorai Yards to-day, and all were sold, bullocks from £5 10s to £8 ss ; cows from £4 10s to £7 , 2s 6d. We quote really prime quality, at 22s 6d to 235. We sold 25 head at above rates, and have placed privately 40 head. Fat Sheep. — About 1000 merino wethers were penned, of which about 800 were sold at from 7s to 8s for ordinary, and 10s 6J for prime ; the balance were turned out. Our sales comprised 600 at above rates, and 500 privately. We quote prime mutton at 2id for merinos, and 2|d to 3d per lb for crossbreds. Store Cattle. — We have a demand for quiet grown cattle, and have placed several small lots. Store Sheep. — We quote crossbred wethers at - lis to 12s 6d ; do ewes in lamb at 15s to 18s - do lambs, 8s 6d to 9s ; merino wethers, 7s to 8s ; do ewes in lamb, 8s to 10s. We have sold 1000 ewes, and have buyers for every class at quotations. Wool. — Our usual weekly sale was held this day, and about 50 bales were offered. There was a good attendance of buyers, but the competition was not very spirited, although for the lots sold full prices were realised, as follows : — Greasy slipe, B, 1 bale, 6d ; do fleece, W, 1 do, BJd ; do do, FH, 4 do, lOfd ; band-washed, DB, 2 do, Is ; washed fleece, SxP, 1 do, Is 4jd j half-washed, do, 1 do, Is. Sheepskins. — For these the bidding was animated, and with one exception, all the lots offered — comprising 2000 Bkins — were disposed of. Dry merino skins at from 8d to 2s 4d ; green do, 3s to 3s Id ; dry cross-breds, 3s 5d to 4s. Hides.— We sold 80, at from 16s 6d to 26s 6d each. TallOw. — None offered. New Zealand Hemp. — No alteration to report, the demand continuing weak. Grain. — The market is without material - change. Prime samples of Northern wheat are saleable at ss, and are wanted ; ordinary qualities, 4s 9d to 4s lOd. Oats are still in fair request, at from 3s lOd for feed to 4s for milling samples.
