~«i DUNEDIN. Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co. report for the week ending 3rd May us follows :— Fat Cattle. — Only 15 head came forward. Good quality fetched fully 2(b per lOOlbs. Fat Sheep. — 600 merino ewes and wethers were penned, of which wo sold the following: — 100 merino eweß, middling quality, at 6b 3d ; 270 merino wethers, fair quality, at from 7a 9d to 8b 9d. We quote prime quality half-breds, 2^l per lb ; do merinos, 2^d. Store Cattle. — T> o transactions. Store Sheep.— We have enquiries for halfbreds and merino wethers. Our gales comprise 150 C full-mouthed wethers at 59 6d; and 500 full-mouthed merino ewes at ss. We quote half-brer's, 10s to lls 6d ; do lambs, 8s to 8s 6d ; acrino wethers, 6s to 7s ; do eweß, full-mouthed, 5s to 5s 6d. Country Sales. — We held our monthly sale at Palmereton on the Ist inst. There was only a limited quantity of stock offered. 250 cull ewes brought 3s 6cl each ; 25 head mixed cattle, frbm 30s to £4; and 10 head fat cattle, £4 15s. On the following day, at Thornhill, Waikouaiti, we held a Bale of pure bred Ayrshire cows and heifers, on account of Mr Alexander Annan. were numerous, and competition active. The prices realispd were £6 to £12 5a for cows, and £3 10» to £6 for heifers. Horses — Tue demand for heavy draughts con tin upb good.' We Bhall offer at our yards next Saturday, on account of Mr John Trbstrail, ex Album bra, from Melbourne, 30 head of superior heavy draught mares and geldings, and 6 pure bred Shetland ponies. We quote first-class draughts, £50 to £60 ; medium do, £3"0 to £35 ; good hacks and light harness horses, £20 to £25 ; medium do, £10 to £14 ; light and inferior, £3 to £6. Sheepskins, &o. — At our sale on Thursday we ___£fjkre_d about 150Q Bheenskins and a few hides There was a TTair attendance of the trade, but competition was very languid, and we " were obliged to withdraw several lots. Grain.— Wheat continues in fair demand at 4s 6d to 4s 9d per bushel for good milling, and 2s 9i to 4« for inferior and smutty. Oats are in great request, and few offering ; feed are worth 3a 2d to 3s 3d, and milling 3s 6d per bußbel. Barley — None offering.
