£13 to £13 10s. Wheat is decidedly easier ; not more than 5s 7d to 5s 8d could be got for the few small parcels offering privately. About 400 bags were cleared off by auction at 5s 6£d to 5s 7£d ; 5s 7£d was also bid for another parcel of 500 bags, bufc refused. Oats are likewise somewhat less firm ; 500 bags were got rid of by auction at 3s 9d to 4s for seed, and 3s 6J to 3s 8d for feediug sorts. There are a few parcels on the market, and sales have been made privately at 3s 8d to 3s lOd, but to no great extent. Maize is improving, and business is reported at 3s ld to 3s 2d, according to quantity. Teas are moving off at 13d to Is lOd for ordinary to fine congous. In oilmen's stores we hear of the quittance of an invoice of 250 packages, comprising salad oils, castor oils, sauces, &c, at a full price. Kerosene oil is in moderate request ; 1 000 cases Astra brand have met with purchasers at Is B*d. In tobaccoes, we note the quittance of 200 packages Raglan twist at a full price. Timber is ri-ing in price, owing to home advices, which state that circe the first of the season's contracts for deals were entered iuto in the Baltic, millowners were refusing to give quotations. Inferior assortments were costing £9 10s per standard, and £7 offered for ships to Australia bad been refused. The cost of flooring will also be much higher this sea?on, as log timber had advanced 50 per cent. In sugars, little special has transpired. We note, however, the arrival ofthe Sarah, from Mauritius ; no advices have yet come to hand. In liquids, we learn of the quittance of two shipments of Tennent's ale to hand, at 13s. The agents report being advised this mail of considerable supplies as on the way. Amongst the arrivals reported we note several past due vessels from Europe. The following is Messrs J. H. Clough and Co.'s station produce report and pries list : — Wool.— There is very little doing in this market, the season being over, and the only lots coming forward are remnants of clips previously sold and odd lots of mixed wool, &c We have disposed of several consignments of the above descriptions at current rates. Sheepskins. — Our usual sales have been fully attended by the buyers, and we have bad a good supply forward, all of which we cleared out at the following prices, viz.— Pelts, Is 6d to 3s 6d each ; full wool'd skins, 4s 6d to 5s 6d do j dry Btation skins, 6d to 8d per lb. Hidbs. — We have to report a firm market ; our sales have passed off with spirit, and we have disposed of a large quantity, tbe whole being taken by the local tanners at the followiug prices, viz. — Green ox, 25s to 35s each ; cow, 18s to 24s do ; wet salted, 5d to 6£d per lb ; caif skins, 6id to 7£d do. Tallow. — We have had an average supply forward, and have sold at the following pricrs, viz.— lnferior, £^7 to £29 per ton ; mixed. €30 tv £34 lOs do ; beef, £32 to £33 do ; mutton, £34 10a do.
