DUNEDIN.

Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co. report for the week ending 12th April as follows : — Fat Cattle.— A large supply caused prices to be a little easier. 83 head were yarded, ot which «c sold 36 bead, medium quality, at from £5 to £6 17s 6d. We quote prime quahty, 20s per ICO lbs ; medium do, 17s. Fat Sheep. — 500 were penned. Our sales were as follows : — Bl half-breds, fair quality, 12a 6a ; 160 merino wethers, 7s 9d to lis 9d ; 90 merino ewes, 6s 6d. Other sales were 170 merino ewe-, ss'to 6s 9d. We quote prime half-breds, 2£r) per lb ; do, merinos, 2sd. We sold privately 1000 merino wethers at 2id per lb, and 800 do at 8s per head. • Store Cattle. — We have enquiries for fullgrown cattle. We quote bullocks, 3 to 4 years old, £3 10s to £4 ; mixed lots, £2 5s to £2 15s. Store Sheep.— The demand continues good for all descriptions. We sold 900 half bred Romney Marsh lambs at 9s, and 800 half-bred Leicester ' ditto at 8s 6d. We quote half- breds, 2 and 4 ' tooth, lis to 12s ; ditto lambs, 8s 6d to 9s ; me- i rino wethers, 6s 6d to 7s j ditto ewes, full- < mouthed, 4s 6d to ss. Horses.— ln the absence of fresh lots, sales , have been chiefly of dealers' horses. We quote firat-class draughts, £50 to £60 j medium ditto, I £30 to £35 ; good hacks and light harness horses, ] £18 to £25 ; medium ditto, £12 to £15; light ( and inferior, £3 to £5. ] Wool, &c.— There were no public sales of wool thia week. On Thursday, we sold at auction 1 about 850 skins, at from 4s to 5s 9d for full- . wooled elans, 3s for dried station skins, and 10d i to 14d for pelts j also, about 150 hides at from 18s 3d to 25s each. ( Grain.— Wheat has a fair enquiry at 4s 6d to 4s*9d per bushel. Oats continue firm at about j 2s 9d per. bushel for feed, and 3b for milling. ( 1 Barley is without change. j |
