Copper is steady, Wallaroo £96. Tin is firm, Straits at £147. Hides unaltered. There is a full supply of leather, and prices have declined a halfpenny. New Zealand hemp, £23 to £26. "Wheat is dull. Preserved meats in tins of suitable sizes are scarce, and dearer in price. Butter, ex Jason and Wave of Life, has been sold at 90s per cwt. London, April 5. Money is in active demand ; discount, 3| per cent. Stocks are depressed, owing to its being apprehended that money will be dearer. The following changes have taken place in the btock Market since last report. Victorian Government debentures, sixes, April and October, 112 i; New South "Wales fives, 106 f ; New Zealand consolidated fives, 104 ; Bank of Australasia, 51i. A spirited advance bas taken place in Colonial land shares. Australian Agricultural, 75 to 79 ; Van Diemen's Laud, 13 to 14 ; Peel Eiver, 77 to 82 ; Soutb Australian, 34 to 36. Tallow— mutton, £43 to £44; beef, £41 to £42. Australian tin ore — superior, £80 to £93 per ton ; medium, £40 to £(50 ; inferior, £15 to £30. Leather is quiet. Hides inactive. New Zealand hemp flat. Petroleum, Is 3d; Sydney oil, £28 to £32. The wheat market is depressed, Californian quoted at 58s.
