Meters Wright, Stephenson, and Co. report for the week ending 16th February, as follows : — Fat Cattle. — Only a few head were yarded, which we disposed of at quotations. The trade, howerer, were fully supplied privately. We also ■old 40 head privately at £7. Prime quality beef may be quoted at 17s to 39s per lOOlbs. Fat Bheep. — The number penned, 650, was equal to trade requirements. We sold 140 merino wethers, fair quality, at 8s 6d ; 200 halfbreds, at from 12s to 13s 6d. Other sales were 250 merino wethers 8s 9d ; sfi merino ewes, 5s 6d. We quote prime quality mut'oa, 2id per lb. Fat Lambs. — 140 were yarded. We sold 90 at from 7s 6d to 9s 3d. Stor* Cattle. — No transactions. Store Sheep. — The demand is still active for nearly every description. We sold 1500 2-tooth half-breds at 10s j 1500 full mouthed ewes at 4s 3d ; 1000 merino ewes, 4-tooth to full mouthed, at 5s ; 800 cross breds lambs, at 89 ; 50 Leicester ram lambs, at from 40s to 455. We quote merino wethers, 6 and 8 -tooth, 5s 6d ; do ewes, 4 and 6-tooth, 6s ; do, full-mouthed, 4s 6 I ; crosa-breds, 2 and 4-tooth, 10s ; cross-bred mixed lanibs, Ss. Horses. — There is an excellent enquiry Tor good young draught stock, and horses adapted for coaching or light harness. On Saturday we sold at our yards a shipment of 42 draught horses ex Waratah, from Launceston, at from £19 103 to £44 10$. We quote first-class draughts £45 to £50 ; medium do, £25 to £35 ; good hacks and light harness horses, £25 to £30 ; medium do, £14 to £18 ; light and interior, £3 to £6. Wocl, Ac. — Ob Tuesday we held our fifth public sale of the seamen, which was fairly attended by buyers and others. The quantity offered was small, but this w# had considerable difficulty in quitting, even at a decline on late rates, a circumstance which must be ascribed mainly to the absence of the buyers for America, who, haying completed their purchases, are now out of the market.
