MELBOURNE.

The Argus of the 4th inst reports :— In breadstuffs, transactions in flour do not go beyond a moderate demand for the supply of actual wants, at £14 10s to £16 s*. In wheat we have little to refer to ; a few small parcels of new have been offering at 6s 2d without commanding any response, buyers not being inclined to offer more than 6s. Oats are quiet, the sales effected being trifling and unimportant ; for common to good feeding we quote 3j to 3s 3d. Maize moves but slowly at 2s lOd to 2s lid ; the arrival of two or three cargoes just reported may, however, have the effect of leading to more business.
