at The following are the Southland railway traffic returns for the month ending December 31 :— Corresponding Passengers. No. Cash received. Month in 1871.
. , H. E. Osborne, auctioneer, reports that the sale of sheep, station stores, furniture, Ac, held at the Toi Tois Station on' the Bth inst., was well attended, and most of the lots were keenly com* peted for. The Leicester rams brought £3 JOa, £4, £6 18s, £2 Iss, and £4 5s each ; 17 Lefces terewes (11 lambs -Mgjen in) brought;^* 2s 6 t each. The iron tanwiold for £7 los ; "boat, £7 10s; furniture, stores, and sundries brought fair value. -■ Esk-street, %aoaary 9, 1873.
