DUNEDIN. Mefsn Wright, Stephenson, and Co., report, for the week ending 28th December, as follows :— 1 Fat Cattle. — There was but a meagre attendance of buyers at the yards this week, the trade having provided themselves previously with their Christmas supply. Only 12 head very ordinary quality were yarded, which we sold at £5 each, Prime quality may be quoted at 20s per lOOlbs j second do, 17a. Fat Sheep.— 3oo merino wethers were penned, but turned out through fewness of buyers. We quote prime half- breds, 2£d perlb; do xnerinoß, Ifri to 2d. Store Cattle.— No transactions. Store Sheep. — All classes are in demand, but tellers are not numerous. We soil 110 Leicester rams and ram lambs at from £2 10s to £4 ; 139 Leicester ewes at 30s to £5 10s ; and 800 halfbred Southdown lambs at 7s. We quote halfbred wethers, 7s to 8s ; merinos, 4, 6, andß-tooth 4s 6d to ss. On Friday, the day after the Show of the Otago Agricultural acd Pastoral Association, we submitted for aale, at Forbury Park, a considerable quantity of show stock. A number of Lincoln rams, belonging to Messrs Sutton Bros., were planed at from £6 to £39 each. We sold Leicester ewes, full mouthed, at from £5 to £5 10b i do rams, £5 10s ; Southdown rams, £4 10s ; merino do, £10 to £12; Ayrshire cows, £6 10a to £7 15s ; prize entire yearling draught colt, £100 ; carriage paira, £50 to £60. Horses. — There is a fair demand for good draughts and upstanding coach horses. On Saturday, at our yards, we sold on account of John Ambrose Douglas, Esq., a number of thoroughbred yearlinss and mares, at from £11 to £35. We quote first-lass draughts, £50 to £60 ; medium do, €27 to £32 ; first-class hacks and light harness horses, £18 to £25 ; medium ditto, £10 to £14 ; light and inferior, £3 to £6. Wool. — At our sale on Friday there was a fair attendance of buyers, but biddings were rather languid, and what w»e cold did not realise previous rates. Greasy merino and half-bred realised from lOd to 14 id ; greasy Leicester, 14Jd*; washed cross-bred, 21id j do merino, 20£ d. Station merino pelts, 3d to 9d each ; do do skins, 4s 5d to 5s lid ; do half-bred do, 8s 6d ; green lambskins, la 4d to Is 6d ; bides, 10s 6d to 17s 9d. Grain. — Wheat, very little ia offering, and good samples command Ss 9d to 6s per bushel. Oata retrain without alteration.
