At the adjourned inquest on the body of George Blackall, the medical examination discovered a bruise on the skull sufficient to stun, which must have been given immediately before or after death. The jury, after being locked up for some hours, returned a verdict of wilful murder against some person unknown. The Coroner objected to the verdict, but the jury were positive, and the verdict was ultimately accepted. Dunedin, Nov. 28. Mr Warden Beetham starts from Queenstown to find a better road to Martin's Bay. The Government strongly recommends Mrs Howard as assistant Immigration Agent. Her intention is to establish in London and other ports of embarkation, homes where emigrants should be cared for till the ship sailed. She also intends to deliver lectures.
