RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
(Before H. M'Culloch, Esq., 8.M.) Fbidat, Novembeb 22. James Baker, anew arrival, charged by the police with being drunk and disorderly in Dee •treet on the evening of the 21at inst., and violently assaulting another man of the name of Baler, was fined 20b or 48 hours' imprisonment. James M'Laren, charged with stabbing Malcolm Shaw, was brought up on remand, and, OH tIZC vpplic&tion of Sixl>-Inspecfcor EV>x, again remanded for eight days, to admit of the production of further evidence. Satubdat, Notembbb 23. Mary Storey was fined £5, or 14 days' imprisonment, aB an habitual drunkard. John Ford and Richard Smith were charged by the police with being drunk and disorderly in Elk street, resisting the police in the execution of tbeir duty, injuring Government property by biwaking out of the iock-up, and being absent from the ship Ottawa without leave, on the 22nd inet. Prisoners pleaded guilty. The charge was not pressed by the police, and on the application of the captain the men were returned to the ship. MOXDAT, NOVEMBEB 25. Henry Sat/arty and Andrew Morrison, charged with *eing drunk and disorderly in Dee rtreet on the 24th inst., at 11 p.m., were fined 6s each, or 24 hoars' imprisonment.
