Macdonald, charged by the police with allowiug seven cows to stray within the limits of the town, was fiaed os for each cow, and 5s 6d costs. Monday, 11th November. Charles Cohoill, a new arrival, was charged by the police with using obscene languase in L *yen street on Sunday night. Inspector Fox having stated that he did not wish to press the charge, as it was a first offence, His Worship dismissed the accused with a severe reprimand. The following persona Were charged by the Inspector of Nuisances with allowing animals to stray within the limits of the town, contrary to the municipal bye-laws : — Tliomai Arthur, two cows ; Frederick Stone, one cow ; John H. Umith, *one cow ; William Newall, one horse j Mortimer Sishon, one cow ; Rebecca Q-rant, three cows ; Colin MKinnon, one cow. In each case a penalty of 5s for each animal was inflicted, with 5s 61 costs. Mlmond PMUips, was charged with erecting a stage and scaffolding on the footpath in Tay-street, in front of Messrs Stock and Co.'s builimg, without permission from the Town Council, contrary to the municipal regulations. This being a fiwfc offenne, the charge was dismissed, with an intimation that in future cases the penalty would be inflicted. „». Ellen Pollard, a married woman, recently arrived by the Bebington, was charged with being a dangerous lunatic. Remanded for medical examination. __
