CUSTOMS RETURNS.

The following has been collected as Customs "Revenue during the week ending Saturday, October 19th:—

D. Macrorie, auctioneer, reports : — There were not many country settlers in town on Saturday, and the sales were in consequence somewhat heavy. The section in the New River Hundred was Bold previously, and brought a price equal to about 15s per acre, to include a fencing claim. I sold privately, alao from the previous week, Mr Maher's Bpriug cart, horse, and harnes* for £24 the lot. There was almost an entire absence of buyers of horse stock in the yards, only one lot passing the hammer : this was one which laid claim both to running and hurdle jumping qualities, and realised £15. The usual afternoon and evening miscellaneous sale in the rooms adj ining the Southern Cross Hotel ■was fully up to the mark, but to avoid monotony it is purposed on the first Saturday in November to change the class of goods. On Monday I again held a sale in the Albion Yards of sundries brought from Winton under distress warrant. The only things worth quoting are passenger coach, £16 ; Avery's weighing machine, nearly new, £6 6s ; second hand harness, full rates, &c, te. Enquiries for sheep for delivery after shearing are engaging attention, but at present it is difficult to fix quotations. Albion Yards, 21st October.
