Auckland, Oct. 10. Oakley pleaded guilty to committing breaches of the Arms Act at Makctu. Sentence was deferred. The Grand Jury pointed out that this man had kept an armorer's chop in a native pa for a long time. Henry Cuthbertson, the Post-office clerk, was found guilty of stealing a test letter. A point of law has been reserved for the Appeal Court as to whether stealing a letter which is not an ordinary post letter, is larceny or embezzlement. The Green Harp bondsmen have been released on their own application. "Wellington, Oct. 10. The Provincial Couucil is to be dissolved. Mr Waterhouse haa joined Mr Yogel as Premier. Messrs Hall and M'Lean will also be in the Ministry. The others are not yet known. The Luna has sailed for the Chatham Islands with 30 of the Armed Constabulary. Chkistchttbch, Oct. 10. The Collegiate Union is going to petition the Legislature against the Auckland University Bill, and in favor of one University for the whole of New Zealand, with affiliated colleges in the different provinces. DmsEDiN, Oct. 10. Steps are being taken to have Otago represented at the Wellington regatta.
