Gk F. Martin and Co. report : — Tha aola r»f oAti.\a t~»i^ u.t TTpjiton farm on thf> 2nd inst. was very poorly attended, and prices obtained far from satisfactory. We sold milch cows at from 52s 6d to £4, and a number of young stock, inferior quality, in one lot at 17* 6d a head. On Saturday, the sth inst., we quitted the balance of the dairy stock at prices varying from £1 108 to £3 3s. A large number of horses "Were offered at the yards on Saturday, and several light hacks v?ere placed at from £5 os to £12 •, draughts, £19 to £25. Invercargi L 7th October, 1872.

D. Macrorie, auctioneer, reports : — ' - There was both a plentiful supply of various descriptions of stock at the Albion Yards on Saturday, and a good atfendance maintained throughout. Several cows changed hands, thoush out of condition, but thoroughly quiet, and the price realised was from £2 to £3 per head. Some of the advertised horses (coung stock) were not broujiht forward, owing to having been running on tussaeky ground, and consequently out of condition, but will shortly be offered. Mr Friskin's were well competed for up to a price, £32 and £39, but being firsl-class draughts, were ■withdrawn for a week. A few head passed the hammer, quotations ranging from £4 to £20, according to description. The pigs created animated bidding, and were quitted at from 4s 6d to 17s 6d. Owing to a question being raised as to the Registrar of the Supreme Court giving effect to a sale under the new Transfer Act, the -and in Jacob's River Hundred was offered, but withdrawn temporarily, at a price, with the consent of the mortgagor, and meantime can be sold by private treaty. The booth for the Stallion Show only realised 10s, as it only lasts two hours . The morning and evening sale of miscellaneous goods next the Southern Cross Hotel fully sustained the public interest, and on the whole prices instead of flagging showed renewed vigor. Albion Fards, 7th October, 1872.
