CUSTOMS RETURNS.
The following has been collected as Customs during the week ending Saturday, August 17th : —
D. Macrorie, auctioneer, reports ;— The fall of snow in the country districts prevented the horses, which were advertised for last Baturday, from being brought forward, and I •received a telegram instructing postponement for • week. Transactions accordingly were limited <in the yards, none which were offered passing the hammer, and the only business effected was -in" "the nature of an exchange between two vendors. The sales of fancy and other goods on behalf of Mr Rodgers received still more encouragement than those of the preceding week, and a considerable clearance was made at rates -which on the whole would not exhibit a sacrifice.
