VOLUNTEER RIFLE MATCH.
A challenge rifle match between ten of the Invercargill and 10 of the Biverton Bine Volunteers took place at the Biverton Butts on Thursday. The weather during the day was exceedingly favorable, and there was a large number of spectators on the ground. The following are the respective scores :
A dinner took place in Mrs Williams's hotel in the evening, to which 30 sat down. After dinner was disposed' of, Capt. Daniel took the chair, when the usual loyal and patriotic toasts were given and duly honored. A grand ball in the Oddfellows' Hall brought the day's proceedings to an appropriate close.
