The Argiis of the 30th ult. reports : — In breadstuff's, flour shows a decidedly improving tendency. The millers generally ask £13 for town flour, but country brands, though not offering very freely, are quoted at prices ranging from £12 10s to £12 15s. Wheat maintains the advance reported yesterday, sales having been made by auction this forenoon again at 5a B£d ; for medium to good samples 5s 4d to 5s 6d is required. Oats do not present any appearance of activity as yet ; we hear, however, of 1,500 bushels common Tasmanian coast oats having been placed at 2s lOd ; good feeding sorts were sold publicly at 3s Id*. Ma ; ze is lower again ; new ha3 dropped down to 3s 4d ; and sales of old are making at all prices, according to quality, up to 3s 4d. Halt is inquired for. We hear of shipments to the extent of 4,000' bushels having changed bands in parcels at very full rates. Kerosene oil is in good request, Diamond brand has been placed at Is 9id, and we are informed of some 2,700 cases Brilliant having been disposed of at Is 9£i. Business in timber has been reported, shelving, cedar, &c, to a fair extent, havirig been offered at auction. In liquids we learn of the quittance~'of a line of 500 cases Hennessy's brandy at a full figure, to arrive.
