CUSTOMS RETURNS.
The following has been collected as Customs "Revenue during' ;the week ending Saturday, 3f arch 2nd : —
Means G. F. Martin and Co. report— The sheep sale, held at Wallacetown on the Ist inst., considering the boisterous weather, was Attended by a considerable number of buyers. The fiulmouthed ewes and wethers were in very poor condition, and were quitted at low figures, vit., ewes from 2s 6d to 23 3d ; store wethers, 2s ; fat do, 6s 9d ; 60 half-bred Leicester and merino ewes were sold in one lot at 10s each ; 12 halfbred Leicester and Lincoln ram lambs, 365 ; three-quarter bred Lincoln and Leicester do, 46s j half-bred do (2 tooth), 50s. The Hampshire Down v sheep were offered in lots of 10, the highest offer being £3 6s, at which price they 'Were withdrawn. We sold one of the rams by auction at £10 10s, and 6 ewes, a run off, privately at £3 10s each, and now hold the remainder (36) for private treaty. In vercargill, March 4, 1872.
