Axtcklaitd, I*eb. 17. Caledonians are quoted at £14 10i f and Thames at £5 2s 6d. The Hero brings Australian news to the 10th inst. H.M.S. Basilisk, on her way to Cipe York, boarded a water-logged and gutted schooner, and found fourteen South Sea islanders aboard in various stages of starvation, and three dead. There was no trace of her name or owners. The white crew had either been murdered or had abandoned the vessel. She is supposed to be the schooner Araeri, as she is of New Zealand build, and had Auckland-made sails. H.M.S. Kosario had arrived at Sydney. The reported revenge for Bishop Patteson's death is untrue. Chbisxchuech, Feb. 19. At the interprovincial boat race, held to-day, a Ly ttelton boat was first, a Kaiapoi one second, the Wellington one third, aad the Otago one sixth. It was a splendid race, won by 1£ lengths.
