THE BARQUE UNION.
The barque Union, the first wool ship of the season, put to sea on the 27th January. She took in all 2562 bales of wool, of which 775 were shipped on account of H. J. Gibbs & Co j 91 by Stock &Co ; 42 by Whittingham Brothers and Instone j 769 by M'Pherson & Co j 612 by Calder Blacklock & Co ; and 273 by Hare Pratt & Co. She also took 17 bales, containing 1756 sheep skins, besides 845 pkgs preserved meats, 2 casks sealskins and 7 pkgs of personal effects. The wool — 371,7301bs of which were washed and 463,9361bs in the grease — was the produce of the following stations : —
The declared values -were — Preserved meats, | £1352 ; sealskins, £15 ; sheepskins, £120 13s 6d ; and wool, £47,885 19s Bd, making k the total declared value, £49,373 13s 2d.
