Messrs G. IT. Martin and Co. report — The sale of sheep held at LadbTook on the 7th instant was largely attended by buyers and others interested in the sheep market. The bidding for the different lots was remarkably brisk, and nearly ■everything was quitted at very satisfactory prices. We sold f -bred Lincoln and Leicester ram lambs at £5 10s ; $-bred do, 50s to 20s ; Leicester and merino, 15s to 12s 5 f-bred Lincoln and Leicester ewe lambs, 37s ; Lincoln and merino weaners (half-bred), 6s; Lincoln and Leicester ewe lambs, 18s 6d to lls 6d ; Leicester ewes, mixed ages, 22s to 15s ; merino ewes, 3s 6d to 3s 3d. We sold privately 2-tooth Lincoln and Leicester rams, $-bred, at £12 each. We placed the steers, which were very superior stores, at £4 4s ; also one short-homed bull at £10 sb. About 12 draught and saddle horses ■were also offered, but met with no demand. We have to report the sale privately of 20 Leicester Tarns, 2 tooth, at £4 10s. InTercargill, February Bth, 1872.
