Messrs Cargills and M'Lean report that they held their fourth wool eale by auction on the 24th inst. The attendance of buyers was not quite so numerous as at previous sales, still the bidding was good, and the prices realised fully maintained the late advance. One small lot brought 16fd, the highest price yet obtained in this market for greasy fleece. Of the clips passed, several were placed under offer till the 25th, when business is almost certain to result. The following were the sales : — B in triangle, 115 bales greasy, lO£^ ; M and Co over Eweburn, 22 bales washed crossbred fleece, 20d ; 3 T's, 16 bales greasy, 9f 1 ; P over two dots, 22 bales greasy, 13^1; JLR, 7 bales greasy fleece, 36f d ; FP in diamond, 9 bales, pieces, lid, and 4 bales locks, 7£d ; M in diamond over MS', 14 bales greasy, 9|d ; Islay, 68 bales greasy, 14id, 8 bales pieces, lOd, 3 bales locks, 7d ; RC in circle, 34 bales washed, 19i ; locks, half-price, 4 bales greasy, 13f d ; 1 bag scoured wool, 22d. The following sheepskins were sold : —1 bale, 7id per lb ; 2 bales washed, 13£ d. One cask tallow, 26s per cwt. Messrs Driver, Stewart & Co. report having sold by public auction the Rugged Ridges Station, situated in the Waitaki district, 60 000 acres, with 26,438 sheep, for the sum of £16,500, to Charles Nichols, Esq. ; also, the Stotfold Station, situated in the Oamaru district, 26,000 acres leasehold and 2740 acres freehold, with 18,000 sheep, for the sum of £12,100, to Philip Oakden, Esq.
