LONDON PHORMIUM REPORT.

Messrs Devitt and Hett report on Nov. 16 : — Since 18th ult. the market has been yery firm. 1500 bales have been offered at auction, and the whole sold at prices showing an advance of about 30s per ton for the month. A considerable business has also been done in second-hand parcels, chiefly to supply American orders, for qualities at j £27 to £30 per ton. There has been a good demand for the low kinds at £20 to £23, and these are very scarce. Previous to last week there was no demand for tow, but then 200 bales were ! sold at £13 10s to £14 ss, and it is now freely saleable at these quotations. The return of stock On 2nd inst was 761 tons ; ipaports since Ist January 2370 tons ; and deliveries £2530. We anticipate that the return of deliveries for this month will compare still more favorably with the imports. The following list comprises the principal marks sold : —Per Caduceus, from Auckland, G\D A, £27 to £27 15s ; C&D B, £23 15s to £24 ss; C&D C, £24 5s ; C&D O, £23. Per Malay, from Nelson, BM&B, £27 ;R, £24. Per England, from Wellington, CA W in heart, £24 10s ;H, £22 10s ; CHB, £26 15s; M, £25 15s ; C anchor E, £28 j O in diamond, £27 10s ; HF, £26 5s ; V, £26 10s. Per Charlotte Gladstone, MAMH, £26 15s. Per Jessie Readman, from Dunedin, JD X, £31. Per Celseno, from Lyttelton, Styx, £26 ss. Arrivals—England from Wellington, Crusader from Lyttelton, and Alexandrina from Auckland, witli 1500 bales in all.
