AUCKLAND.
We have Auckland intelligence to the 3rd mat :•— - The Auckland, steamer, from the Fijis, reports that the Coquette was lost on a reef near Suva. Brissenden's flax mill at Puriri has been destroyed by fire, with a large amount of property. The Tbameß districts are suffering from dulness of trade, want of employment, and general depression ; yet large numbers continue to arrive. The U.S. war vessel Reseca has sailed for Valparaiso. The barque Cantero was sold for £500. 160,000 feet of timber sold at 6s 6d per 100 feet. - The Shotover Company lodged with the bank to-day (3rd inst.) 1,280 ounces of gold. The barque Record has sailed for Shanghai with £2,000 worth of timber. Harris and Laurie's estate is to be wound up. The Vale of Avoca Company crushed 133 ounces from 53 tons of quartz.
