MELBOURNE.

The A.ge of the 10th inst. reports : — Business daring the day has been interfered with to a material extent by the inclement state of the weather, and as a consequence the sales we have to report are few and unimportant. Aa improved inquiry has been experienced for flour, but, so far as we can learn, this inquiry has not led to any sales of imnorfance. We retain our quotations of £12 to £12 5s as the value of approved brands of Victorian country. Wheat has been moved off to some little extent at 5s 7d to &8 8d for good samples of Victorian. In feeding grains there is no change to note ; both oats and maize eontinue dull at unaltered quotations. Cornsacks continue in improved demand, and prices show an advancing tendency. In general goods we notice more inquiry for candles, cornsacks, and brandy. The former article has been sold in some quantity at a slight advance ; some holders do not care to sell, but we know that lOf d. has been refused for best brands. Three 'bushel sacks have been sold at 12s 3d in bond, and the market has shown some tendency - -to advance. Brandies in bottle have been in more < -request, and good brands have met with considerable notice to-day. The stock of United Vineyard has been nearly brought up, and Hennessy's is very strongly held.
