The C.S.SJJ. Co.'s Phfflbe arrived at the wharf yesterday, at 8.30 a.m., with mails from England ria San Francisco. She crossed the Manukau Bar at 4.80 p.m. on the iSth, arrived at Taranaki at 6 ajn. on the 16th, sailed for Nelson at 9 a.m. Bame day, and arrived at 10.55 j>.m. same day ; sailed at 12.3aa.rn. on the 17th, and arrived at Picton at 9 a.m. same day ; sailed for Wellington at 9.45 a.m., and arrived at 2.45 p.m. same day ; sailed again at midnight, and arrived at Lyttelton at 8 a.m. on the 18th 9 left for Port Chalmers at 11 a.m. on the 19th, and arrived at 7.45 a.m. on the 20th; sailed for the Bluff at 4 p.m., and arrived as above, thus delivering the mail* with greater expedition than has ever been done by any other vessel ; the Wellington portion being delivered in 46J- hours, ss; hours less than on any former occasion, and but for an unavoidable delay at Lyttelton, the Southland mails would have been delivered on the morning of the 20th. She experienced light variable winds with fine weather throughout the passage. The total number of packages of mails shipped at the Manukau was 172, the greater portion being for Otago.
