June 14. The Council have passed through all its stages of the Overland Telegraph Bill. The Insolvency Bill has finally passed the Assembly without any important amendment. The meeting yesterday of persons interested in intercolonial free trade and reciprocity was attended by about 30 influential persons. Mr D. Randall read , a lengthy paper on the subject, and reso-

lutions were passed approving of a Customs union and the necessity for free trade over the border. A strong attempt is being made by the"Total Abstinence Society to get publichouses closed on Sunday. June 15. In the Legislative Assembly the land resolutions have been carried, with an. amendment leaving blank the term of years for which land ia to remain unsold before being dealt with. Holders of wheat are very firm since the receipt of the late Californian news, with regard to a serious drought there. They ask 53 4d per bushel. Messrs Parr and Imxmore sold by, auction, to-day, a parcel of 2,000 bushels of inferior wheat, at 4s ll|d per bushel.
