Auckland, June 18. Fagg has been found guilty of selling arms and ammunition to the natives, and sentence was deferred. . Much indignation is excited by the delay in the departure of the port-of-call deputation to Sydney. Wellington, June 20. The General Government have received a telegram stating that the Commissioners have succeeded in obtaining the Imperial Government's guarantee for a loan of £1,000,000. Lord Napier of Magdala has written to the Commissioners expressing himself as opposed to the employment of Ghoorka* in New Zealand. Mr Stafford's speech was intended to throw the' responsibility of any party fight on the Government. - The Cave will not vote against the Government. Mr Gillies has given notice • thai he will move for all papers regarding the appointment of the present AttorneyGeneral. It is supposed that this has reference to Mr Sewell's appointment. The Million Loan will be for immigration and public works only, and the guarantee has been granted on certain conditions. Mr Swan asked the Premier whether the Government knew that a cargo of South Sea Islanders had been imported into Auckland for working in flax fields ? Also, if tbey were aware whether it was the intention of the parties to continue the traffic? • Mr Pox said the Government had no information as to how the natives had been obtained, but if it was ascertained that any abuse, as hinted, was- likely to occur, they would, after consideration with the Auckland members, take steps toremedy the evil. In reply to a question, Mr Yogel said that as soon as the wire arrived from England, no time would be lost in constructing the telegraph line to Taranaki. In the Supreme Court to-day, Judge Johnston had all the prisoners sentenced at the late sitting brought up, having dis* covered that the proceedings were illegal, as the Court sat on a- holiday. The judgments were respited till the 10th July. One short-sentenced prisoner was enlarged on bail. The others remain in custody. The Judge said that no failure of justice would accrue through the mistake. DuNEDnr, June 20. The requisition calling upon Messrs Yogel and O'Neill to resign their seats it a failure. ' '.'
