CANADA.
The threatened raid by the Irish filibusters did not occur on the 15th, but enough transpired to justify watchfulness on the part of the authorities. The Habeas Corpus Act has been suspended, and the volunteers are under arms: Trade relations with the United States have occupied the attention of the Parliament at Ottawa. A resolution in favour of independent action by the Dominion, subject to the Crown's assent, relative to the making of commercial treaties with foreign countries, has been defeated.
