CHINA.
The Erench Minister has succeeded in obtaining reparation for the outrages committed by Chinese on French subjects. Projects for developing coal mines, for starting road steamers, and for the construction of railways, attract attention. The P. and O. steamer Sunda has run down a German coal ship. No lives were lost. The coolie ship Peru lost nearly all her passengers and crew.
