Osboxxb, Auctioneer, reports: —The ■ale of stock and implements at Strathlane farm (Mr Hugh Milan's), on 31st ult, was well attended, notwithstanding the inclemency of the weather, and everything sold at satisfactory prices. The stock, both horses and cattle, was well known to be of a superior class, being mostly bred by the owner. There was, consequently, lively competition amongst the settlers present for the various lots. Quotations may be given v follows: — Hones. —The colteandlightaaddlehacksbrought from £610s to £14; one entire colt, 3 years old, by A Thane of Clyde," broken to harness, brought £40. One draught mare, with foal at foot, and in foal to " Southorne," was sold for £30. The two entires, "Thane of Clyde" and " Southorne," both valuable animals, were withdrawn. Cattle. —The cows, most of them well-bred, brought from £10 to £16 10s. Heifers, £5 10s and upwards. One 2-year old bull, by "Northumberland Duke," brought £20; one 3-year old bull, £1410s. A small mob (14), 3 to 5-year old store bullocks, sold at £4 per head; oae lot of heifers, £3 per head. Bheep. —Broken-mouthed mixed sexes, 2s each; full-mouthed do, 2s 6d; 2, 4, And 6-tooth, halfbrede, mixed scxm, from 4* 9d to 6t 3d; lambi, 4»4d etch.
For the household furniture and farm imoleraents there was good bidding. The pianoforte, by Ralph Allison and Sons, brought £15.
