Mabybobottgh, March 12. The rains in this district have been heavierthan anyone can remember to have seen before. The flood' has risen to an alarming extent; and is four feet above the highest point ever known to have been previously reached. Large numbers have been compelled to abandon their homes. The Mayor has been most active in relieving the most pressing cases. Bbisbaite, March 12. All the wharves are submerged with flood waters, and the shipping business has been suspended in consequence. . The rain continues to pour down. At Maryborough the water is four feet above the highest mark of 1864. An immense amount of damage has been done. ' : - :■ ■ /■■ 1 . March 14. ' I The rains have ceased, and the flood, waters are declining. The driver of the mail coach -was drowned while crossing the Oxley Creek. Gympie, March 14. i There have been six days successive rain, and the , whole district has. been visited by the severest. floods ever/ known here. One half of the town, extending for about a mile, is completely submerged,'
