OTAGO.

The Daily Times of the 2nd inst. reports : — The import markets are still very quiet, and little has been dome to-day except for immediate wants ; it is, however, possible to report a prospect of. better business almost immediately. The grain market witnesses no better enquiry, nor is any alteration in values apparent, though prices are considered firmer. Liquids have been very dull, and sugars quiet. There has been more disposition to transactions in teas, and rates are well sustained. Cornsacks are looking firmer, but no sales of any magnitude known of. Kerosene and candles have been quoted in moderate parcels without any change in rates. Telegraphic advices to hand to-day have not affected the markets, and in auction sales nothing of any importance has gone forward.
