The Daily Times of the 29th inst. reports : — The wfather to-day being entirely against business, nothing of any moment has gone forward. The markets are dull in the extreme, and trade is scarcely likely to reviVe during the remaining day or two of the present month. Small sales of teas and tobaccos may be noted at sustained prices ; but no particular goods can he reported as enquired for. Quotations in the produce market are stationary, with no demand except for local requirements. Yesterday, Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co., submitted the Palvey Station to public competition, at their rooms. £7000 was the reserve prise, and as £6200 was the highest hid, the property was withdrawn. Mr John Brook, of Manse street, reports : — The produce market, as is usual at this season of the year, is quiet. The advancing value of oats and wheat in Victoria, if snstained, will operate as a rheck against low vahws ruling here. Prices remain generally the same as la3t week — Flour, £11 10s to £12 per ton ; oatmeal, £18 do ; pearl barley, £28 do ; wheat, 4s 6d per bushel ; oats, 2s 9d to 3s do ; maize, 5s do ; bran: £5 per ton ; pollard £5 do ; hay, new, £4 to £4 10s do ; chaff, £4 10s do ; straw, £2 10s do ; potatoes, new, £5 do ; onions, £13 do ; butter, 8d per lb j cheese, B<i do ; bacon and hams, lOd do ; bags, 14s per dozen.
